How to Share and Automatically Update Files Between PC, Mac, iPhone, and More

PROBLEM:
I can’t share files from my work computer, home computer, laptop, desktop, iPhone, between buildings, and between Mac and PC computers.  I have to use email or a jump drive to share files all the time.

SOLUTION:
Dropbox

How to set it up in two steps:
Step 1 – Download and install Dropbox from http://www.dropbox.com/ on any PC or Mac computer or iPhone (app store).

Step 2 – Use the same existing account at all locations you install (same username and password)

This is free as long as you keep it under 2 GB of space.  If you need more, consider purchasing a cheap monthly subscription.  Oh, and if you get some friends to sign up, you can boost your free space up to 3 GB.  Woot.

Thanks to my friend Scott Avey who shared this tip with me.

Do you know of another solution?

  1. That’s what I use, too – Dropbox rocks.
